Both the pre-engineered steel truss and the fabric roof are designed specifically for a highly corrosive environment. The steel trusses are hot-dipped galvanized post-fabrication, forming a continuous zinc coating metallurgically bonded to the steel on the inside and outside of each truss section, as well as on all welds. The fabric roof is also unaffected by corrosion and requires no corrodible fasteners, decreasing maintenance requirements over time. A 20 year pro-rated warranty stands behind both the trusses and fabric roof.

Fabric buildings are easier to monitor and service over time than conventional structures. Each truss is made up of large sections, which are easy to visually assess as the life of the structure progresses. Conventional salt storage buildings have thousands of hidden fasteners which cannot be monitored as salt takes its effect. The fabric roof is also highly serviceable and cost-effective to replace. Many of Michigan’s aging conventional salt storage buildings are serviced by very expensive remodels or being completely demolished. With fabric buildings, repairs are not only less likely, but are a simple matter of a replacement part.

Fabric structures can greatly reduce or even eliminate the need for electrical lighting due to the semi-transparent properties of the roof. This allows for a bright, safe environment for your equipment operators to work in. The clear-span space in fabric buildings combined with the webbed truss members also allow for more efficient air exchange in your building.
